In the petroleum industry, gas injection refers to the pumping of various types of gases into underground oil reservoirs to stimulate crude oil. The composition of the gas can vary, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, etc.
Re-injection is the re-injection of natural gas into a subterranean reservoir, which usually already contains both natural gas and crude oil, in order to increase the pressure within the reservoir and thus cause a flow of crude oil or gas that cannot be exported.
