Natural gas, like many other commodities, can be stored indefinitely in natural gas storage facilities for later consumption. Gas storage is mainly used to meet load changes. Gas is introduced into storage during periods of low demand and removed from storage during periods of peak demand.
Application:
● Pressure ratio low, flow rate high at the beginning of the cycle (initial input or output)
● The pressure is high and the flow rate is low at the end of the cycle for injection or withdrawal.
● Discharge and suction pressures may vary. Staging and unloading are used to meet the storage curve.
